We have 4 returning board members - Frank Stucki, Tom Gleason, Tony Yankuaskas, Nancy Devitt and three open board positions replacing Laurie Hynes, Jean Weiss, and CJ Williams. And so far we have 3 nominees to fill these. As stated in our by-laws we must open nominations to our whole membership, so nominations will be taken from the floor at the annual meeting.

Following are our 3 nominees and their bios.

BIO - I have been married for 36 years. We raised 3 boys and now have 6 grandchildren. I started playing pickleball in 2016 after retiring from softball. It was a great replacement sport. One thing I like about pickleball is that you can play terribly, but still have a good time. I like rec play because there is a lot of socializing, laughing, and playing. I have met a lot of friendly people through this sport. If I am not on the court playing, I am most likely talking about pickleball with someone, somewhere. I am competitive and will travel just about anywhere for a tournament for the love of the game and the people involved.  I am happy to spread the word about pickleball and our Twin Cities Pickleball Club.

Why I want to serve on the board - I appreciate volunteers who help promote the sport of pickleball and donate their time with club functions.  Serving on the board, to me, is my way of paying it forward.

BIO - People call me TD for short . My brother in-law is a avid Pickleball player and introduced me to the sport and gifted me my first paddle about two years ago. Since then, I have started playing locally here in Minnesota, primary Bloomington and Edina. My favorite part of Pickleball is meeting and playing with people of all different backgrounds. I'm married to my wife of 29 years, with two children (plus one son in-law), one grandson and one fur-baby grandson.

Why I want to serve on the board - My goal is to help build a fun and inviting Pickleball community for everyone.

BIO - Having lived in NY, GA, PA, FL, WA, NC, I now call MN home.  Retired from Dental Medicine career. I now enjoy pickleball as favorite outdoor/indoor activity alongside all the MN nice players. Thanks to each and every one!

To speed things along at the Annual Meeting, the current board is recommending the following slate for board officers.

President - Frank Stucki

Vice President - Tom Gleason

Treasurer - Tony Yankuaskas

Secretary - Nancy Devitt

Looking forward to "Zooming" on October 2.
