NICKELBALL CHALLENGE - FUNNY NAME, GREAT CAUSE!
Guest post from our favorite (and only) Tipbits author!
Social distancing got you down? Do you miss the companionship and challenge of a great game of Pickleball. Well, NICKELBALL is the answer for at least the next month!
NICKELBALL is a structured training program that develops the skills necessary for Pickleball and other paddle sports. It was designed expressly for the SOZO kids and their after school program. Plastic NICKELS (hence the name) are used to encourage and incentivize the participants. Now, into the second year of the program, many additions have been made and wrinkles ironed out. Time to Face the Nation!
Now, why is this coming your way ? Well, NICKELBALL isn't just for kids. You're seeing
it today to help you ward off the blues and the blahs and the boredom of sheltering in place and self quarantining. Anybody out there? You know you need a new CHALLENGE. Put a court ON A WALL in your garage, your basement or anywhere you can put a 4' X 8' hunk of plywood.
There are 108 Games, 9 more hand/eye coordination POPS, and 36 nearly impossible Advanced Player only games. Are you Challenged? CHALLENGE yourself, your partner, your family, your PB group or club! Who can finish the most games in the least amount of time? CLICK HERE for the Challenge Guide.
And PLEASE help us spread the word. Share it on Social Media, Facebook, Twitter, you name it, PLEASE!
And now is your chance to GIVE BACK. WHY NICKELBALL? The SOZO kids live in Central Florida's Ocala National Forest. They and their guardians make up a total of some 45,000 inhabitants living in the forest, under the radar and off the grid. To say the kids are under privileged would be an incredible understatement. SOZO (translated means RESCUE) accurately defines their plight. The SOZO Help Agency provides transportation back and forth to school and after school programs. Now that schools are closed indefinitely, no mechanism exists to provide for meals, during and after school. If each of you would give just ONE dollar, imagine the impact this would have on the Sozu Kids.
